I found a fellow (Kermit Wilke) with a wealth of knowledge from Wilcox, NE. He has been working on my 1911 Sears for a couple weeks now. I just got the word that he has it up and running now. I can't wait to give it a spin.

We are having a summer history camp based on the year 1911. We are the Williamson museum, a non-profit museum, and our courthouse is 100 years old this year. I am trying to learn more about autos of the time and hope to find somebody to bring one to show the students. Our group will include 25-28 4th grader(lotof boys) so we need something to catch their attention. Any ideas you can share would be appreciated. Judy Meredith Volunteer Williamson nuseum

Thanks for the beautiful site covering the Sears Automobile! I've long been fascinated in antique autos, and I'm trying to piece together in my own mind the history of how our modern automobile developed - the high wheelers were well designed for farm families & rural muddy rutted roads, and it's interesting to see the ones Sears sold - simply amazing what one could get from a Sears and Roebuck mail-order catalog back in the day! Maybe Sears would be interested in having a reproduction company make a few hundred new ones to celebrate their 125th business anniversary?

Hi John--Great website. I had never heard of a Sears Buggy until a mention of it on Jay Leno's website by Andy Holck, whose distant relative designed the car. Pretty cool old car! It must have been exciting to live in those days when people were transitioning from horse-drawn carriages to motorized carriages! I live in Nashville, TN, where the Marathon automobile was built in 1914-1915. The old factory is still there, and is in use for several other businesses, and they even still have one or two complete, running Marathons. Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm for the old Sears! Scott
